Goodbye, LJ

OK, this is the last straw. I am no longer going to continue crossposting to LJ, and am planning to migrate completely to DW and delete my LJ account.

As if what they'd already been getting up to lately were not annoying enough, it now seems that the folks running LJ are OK with ableist bullying by staff--thanks to lauredhel for bringing this to my attention! More info: http://rydra-wong.dreamwidth.org/252974.html

Yeah, I'd been considering doing it for a while, but I think it's time to go enjoy my autism well away from LJ.

Edit: I am not totally deleting the account for the moment, after all, since I am still interested in a few LJ communities which won't import.

Further edit: Former aside about the locked post incident and possible sockpuppetry removed, in the interest of fairness. My brain is scrambled by noise and I don't know WTH is going on. ;)

What. The. Hell. I had not heard about this at all, but it's got me fuming.

I've notified the mods of asperger about this, because right now, I don't really care about the state of my LJ account. I've also ban_set the guy from the community, Just Because.

This pisses me off even worse because, as I edited the post to include, I remembered the username coming up in connection with the earlier locked post fail. And they kept this staff member around after that.

Also, I'm reading the links in the edit differently; from what I'm reading, there were two different staffers, one who did the insults (br*nd*n) and one who posted on the locked post (dn*wh*ll). (Yes, I'm disemvowelling their names, because they don't even deserve that much attention.)

There has been some speculation about sockpuppetry, and I recall that the b* username came up at the time. I will change the edit to include "speculation".

Scratch that, I don't want to be unfair so I'll just get rid of that edit. I may well have been oddly combining multiple posts in my noise-scrambled head. I can't find the mention of that staffer in connection to the d*n* business--wouldn't be surprised if it were just rudeness from him then--and may have been conflating with the more recent sockpuppetry.

It's like fb, you know? Just getting worse and worse. And people are hanging on because they hope it gets better when it is fucked up beyond repair and all evidence of it getting better points to the contrary.

I can't believe this behaviour from a staff member - it's atrocious!

I'm starting to not feel safe on LJ myself... it's bad enough that little cliques of people occasionally gang up on their friends list to have a good troll session, but this is way out of order.

It shouldn't surprise me though; the number of times I've complained that a user was cyber-bullying me on a community or something, and their response has basically been "Yes? And?"

Their loss if everybody comes over here.
