I'm taking a break after washing a clothesline full of clothes in the kitchen sink. (We have no bathtub; in a strange "post-War house to up-and-down duplex" conversion, our bathroom looks remarkably like the cupboard under the stairs. The phone booth shower is almost a squeeze.) We really, really need to set up delivery of a new machine.

This is an even more strenuous job, since even small traces of detergent left in the clothes will break me out. (Soap, too.) That's a lot easier when you can just run the clothes through an extra rinse cycle or two. I'm still kind of amazed that it took me so long to figure out that maybe my "seborrheic dermatitis" was contact dermatitis from shampoos. *shakes happier head*

But, glad that batch is done, since I've been putting off washing the accumulating pile. :) When those have dripped enough to come back in, I can do another load.

Last night, I made a Thai-like red curry with butternut squash, chicken, and some onion/sweet red pepper/chunky frozen mixed vegetables for variety. (Baked brown rice? One of the best ideas I've ever found. I like the texture better using a scant 2.5 parts water to 1 part rice by volume, though, at least with the Basmati I've been using.) It turned out absolutely delicious to me, but I didn't remember how much Ingvar dislikes winter squash. Oops. Hopefully the chicken-and-veggie pasta tonight will be more edible, without anyone needing to fish half the dish out. :-|

Today I'm mostly focusing on physical work around here, to help balance out the recent brain overload. "Chop wood, carry water", indeed--even if sometimes it does feel like I'm trying to chop water. :)
