Bit of explanation
May. 14th, 2009 03:48 pmA little more explanation for the seemingly sudden MS concern: I'd noticed the symptom overlap for a while, but have gotten particularly freaked out the past couple of days, by what's looking suspiciously like the sort of exascerbation frequently associated with MS.
The neuropathy running down my arms into my hands has gotten worse. The outer edge of my hands--with ring finger and pinky thrown in--is not just numbish and tingling, but going for weakness and tremors to the point that the hands are hard to use, and I'm dropping things. My nose and across my cheekbones have also gone nerve-weird again, and the other eye from usual is wanting to twitch today. Increased leg shakiness may just be coming from being freaked out. Granted, the "ring finger and pinky" pattern is characteristic of B12 deficiency--I've stepped up all the oral supplementation, to be safe--and I doubt that symptom presentation is entirely stable with the strongly suspected deficiencies. Still, the "relapsing-remitting" type pattern is more than a little worrying.
That said, I'm still not confident in my ability to deal with the GP, so am still planning to see whether things improve within a couple of weeks before making an appointment. The delay shouldn't hurt, in any case.
