An armor-piercing dart from an axolotl might be interesting, though.

I am now feeling a perverse urge to learn Nahuatl.

Edit: Just because it's not worth a new post. Of course the neighborhood half-grown hedgehog is back in our garden when my camera batteries are dead. We still haven't managed to get a photo of it. It hid in a patch of deadnettles the last time I tried, but The Churl* was annoying it at the time.

* The neighbors' cat, Charlie. I haven't been able to call him anything else since vatine hung that nickname on him; it's so very appropriate.

Yes, I thought they were interesting. A couple of people I know through an aquarium forum keep them. Also a bit interesting that they translate as "water dogs", given the somewhat similar "river dogs" (and "mudpuppies", for that matter) elsewhere. Big salamanders have never reminded me of dogs. They just scared me when I was a kid and playing in the water a lot. Now I wouldn't mind keeping some. When I have more space for tanks... *evil grin*

Yep, I must have read "axolotl" more recently than "atlatl", and it stuck in my mind.
