Yesterday,
vatine and I spent the better part of the afternoon roaming through IKEA. We picked out a much larger bed and a starter set of linens for it--fitting two adult humans in the existing one is tricky. We also got more shelving and assorted odds and ends, including a wall clock for the kitchen and a stuffed snake which looks very much like a rattlepython. They also had nice, bushy little ferns, perfect for the kitchen window. I was antsy about the prospect of trying to wrestle the shelves with quite long side pieces home on the train, but they're being delivered next weekend too. Yay for delivery service.
On the way out, we stopped in the B&Q next door. After wandering right past the watering cans, we had to have them pointed out--always fun in stores. So, we dragged home a watering can and some bamboo trellising. None of the watering cans had the sprinkly rose things on them, and the guy who checked us out also seemed to think they should, so we got the separate rose for free. After we got home, Ingvar was kind enough to drag out the drill and put up the trellises, with "stand there and hold things"-type help from yours truly. Now the sweetpeas and cucumbers (when those come up) have something to climb to the trellising at the top of the wall.
This morning, I got up and started doing laundry and washing dishes. Never having thought I would do so, I also managed to get irritated at more signs that a cat has been frequenting one of the flowerbeds.
I'm feeling terribly domesticated at the moment, and still find it vaguely disturbing. *g*
