urocyon(Much) earlier, just before 5:00, I called US Airways and rescheduled the flight. Yay. With all the cancellations, just shifting the itinerary forward was simple enough. Now I'm supposed to leave Friday evening and come back on the 21st (my birthday, as it works out).

vatine and I both had the earlier itinerary, clearly showing the flight heading for "LGW", we'd both managed to be under the strange impression that I was landing at Heathrow again. *g* That could have been interesting. It does seem very possible that the first flight he tried to book--through a site which strangely fails to let one know that it doesn't accept other-than-U.S. credit cards until near the end of the booking process--did land at Heathrow, at a different time, and that this stuck in both our minds.
I threw together a quick rice and meat dish with a number of vegetables, including zucchini that looked like you could club somebody to death with them. (That's understandable as an occasional slipup from someone's garden, but annoying when they're being sold by the pound. I wouldn't have bought these, but my dad went to the store.) This occasional improvised dish turned out better than usual, even, because I couldn't find the saffron and wound up throwing in a couple of packets of Sazón Culantro y Achiote we had on hand, instead. An excellent addition I'll have to try to remember in future.
