Feb. 4th, 2009 01:16 amI'm feeling a lot better tonight. It was a pretty rough day, but it did prompt me to ask for more timely help in getting to the doctor's.
At least now I'm fairly sure that I'm not seriously low on B12 again. Apparently, I managed to ignore an ear infection until it got to the point that was difficult. Today the problem was pretty obvious. I had an earache also referred into the molars on that side, and fell over several times. It didn't help that this is the ear which stays blocked up most of the time, so more acute symptoms are easier to ignore as they build.
But, thank goodness, I found something that helps: ginger tea. I wasn't sure at first, but decided to try a cup. As Ingvar pointed out, it does work pretty well for motion sickness, too. After a couple of cups (about 3/4 teaspoon of powdered stuff to a mug of water, with honey and some lemon--we were out of fresh), I'm not nearly as dizzy and nauseous. Yay!
I'm having another cup now, before I go to bed. It must have helped the inflammation, too, since there isn't nearly as much pain now. Just wish I'd thought of it earlier today. :)
Edit: I wish I hadn't spotted this recipe! Cabbage rolls are so good, but so fiddly. Vietnamese ones in soup might be showing up soon, with something other than coriander/cilantro for
vatine's sake. With any luck, this time, I won't blanch any fingers along with the cabbage. *g*
I first spotted this one on a food blog I hadn't checked in a while, and it got me speculating about using cabbage rolls. Bah. :)
