I was actually relieved to become shaky and feverish enough this evening that I couldn't try to put the way I've been feeling the past few days off on allergies--at least it explains my recent mental state. :) One would think that, by now, it might just cross my mind that I may be coming down with a virus when horrible depression and jitteriness swoop down on me from nowhere. No, until a fever or other unmistakeable symptom hits, I worry that I'm heading into some serious depressive episode, no matter how many times this happens. *wry smile*
I hope Capitol One's estimate of 7-10 days for my replacement credit card to arrive is more trustworthy than I'd expect from them. Miss Genius here managed to misplace the card inside the house. Or a relative of Pratchett's drill chuck key fairy took it. It wouldn't really matter anyway, but BA wants the security code off it when booking tickets. (Of course, I remember the three-digit wossname off the other card with insufficient space to purchase the tickets, and on which I can lay my hands anyway.) I did request a replacement before the turn of the month, and specified that it was damaged, rather than lost or stolen--OK, so I wasn't exactly truthful (difficult, really, but easier than admitting losing it inside my own house!), but there's no way it's in anyone else's hands. As a side note, I did have to admit doing precisely the same thing with an ATM card several years ago, and the lady in the credit union looked at and spoke to me as if I were a lunatic--never claimed to be anything else, but I don't think that's one of the major signs of it. *g*
So hopefully the replacement will come before the $50 off round-trip fare special expires on the 10th (the best deal I've located, by far, on top of BA's already relatively low fares). And just in case it doesn't, perhaps I can dig around more and locate the original card, and by some miracle, it won't have been cancelled.
Looking at this, it sounds fairly obsessive, particularly for someone who prefers to think of herself as a rather spontaneous person. Trying to get things squared away, driven by a good bit of excitement, isn't half bad, though. :)
