Human Kryptonite

The ex came up in conversation (in the context of his near-constantly running me down, frequently without realising he was doing so), and my mother offered this uncensored opinion:

"The man is Kryptonite! He's poisonous and debilitating. I had to be away from him for a while before I regained some strength."

I'm still chortling over that one, partially because it's just too apt.
