Apr. 6th, 2011 01:32 amI meant to write another post to clarify/supplement the last locked one (standalone enough with only a brief description), but this hasn't been the best couple of days. I've still got some things to say about nonviolence, the "violent mentally ill people" meme, and some other stuff, and hopefully will be able to get around to it soon.
Reposted from last night's Tumblr spree (which has been more to my level of concentration lately), behind a cut for space:
Earlier, our Staffie was being Dogster Snuggles again, and managed to bunny-kick me hard right in the groin with his back feet. Several times in a row.
Ouch.

Who, me?
I was hoping it would get better with a bag of frozen peas and some ibuprofen, but am beginning to suspect that there's a crack in the pubic bone.
Nothing they could really do at the ER, if so, besides tell me to, erm, use ice and maybe hand out some stronger pain relief. Our local NHS trust got ranked 150/151 in the country on pain control for emergency patients, anyway. I'd believe it, after the trip I made to our local hospital with a hairline crack in my kneecap. After 5 hours' wait, they sent me off with my ankle wrapped up and no pain relief. (Good thing I already had a walking stick, too.) No, don't want to go back there if I am conscious. Definitely don't want them prodding anywhere near my groin.
I'm hoping it will be less painful in the morning, but...
Really, really hoping this apparent osteomalacia improves soon now that I'm heavily supplementing vitamin D.
OK, it is kind of funny in a way. *wry smile*
Yeah, I'm pretty sure something's cracked. At least it's better than last night, but it's swollen today and one side is really sore and tender to the touch. Walking and sitting aren't a lot of fun right now. Irritating, really.
randomswede kindly picked up some Nurofen Plus on his way home, because I didn't want to go out to a pharmacy. That's helping some. I've been trying to take it easy, but that's easier said than done. ;)
Max was sad when I was using pillows as a barrier earlier, when he was trying to be all snuggly again. Hard to tell with the angle of the shot, but his nose was jammed into my belly. He's good both at looking sad, and at snuggling. :)

And those are some strong bully legs he's got.

Date: 2011-04-06 04:44 pm (UTC)He's a sweetie. And his ears and head are, indeed, super-soft in contrast to the prickly fur on most of the rest of him. :) Sometimes I do wish he knew his own strength, though.
