Not the greatest photo, but you can just about see Bert and some of the bubbles in his floating Ceratopteris. Also my hand trying to block some of the Arcpod glare, but hey.
Bert has turned out to be a snouchy little betta. He didn't recognize either flakes or pellets as food, so when I took the Punkin back to the vet's last week, I picked up a frozen assortment of bloodworms, brine shrimp, and mosquito larvae. Yum. Mosquito larvae are a very common food for them in the wild, and he does snarf them right down. I feel a little silly buying wrigglers, but it is February, and I have trouble with the idea of even such psychologically satisfying live food as that.
