This afternoon, [personal profile] vatine and I wandered down to Specsavers. We should both have new glasses and sunglasses in 10 days. Yay!

I was, indeed, blind as a bat with my current prescription. When it has gradually reached the point that I notice I'm having trouble reading, it's pretty bad. *shakes head* I'll be glad to see better again, and hopefully get fewer headaches!

The optometrist didn't even mention my eyes tracking oddly (yeah, they've always done this, and they keep referring me to my GP), and we got very good service on the optician side. The frame selection was a bit more limited by my wanting to get a wider vertical lens area without frame designs aimed at old ladies, basically. (Enter the big, flat face.) But I liked the third or fourth choice trotted out, and it looked like they should stay up OK once they got a rough bridge adjustment. :) Same with the sunglass frames. I'm used to doing more browsing on my own, but this was fairly quick and painless.

Ingvar picked his in under five minutes, the same aviator style in different colors. Handy, knowing your definite preferences there. ;)

I'll probably post pics once they're here.

Then we went by a Waterstone's and came out with more books than we really needed, and I dragged him into Boots after more hair stuff. (A Denman D3 | brush, in this case.) This detour apparently did not come as a great surprise. *wry smile*

At the moment, he's out getting some Maxercise. I was feeling a little too gimpy to go along, but am very glad Max is getting tired out some!

Are you me? Big, flat face, difficulty finding glasses, curly hair, Denman brush?

I mostly use mine for detangling and just general grooming and freshening my curls when I re-wet my hair. But they are good for working products through and I do that when I deep condition or do an oil treatment. On a daily basis, I prefer to use my hands to put in product so I can feel what's what, and then a really wide-tooth comb to work it through, after I've detangled. But that's just because I kind of hate washing the Denman. :D

They wash up easily, but as you may have ascertained, water can get inside the bristle body of the brush. You can take it off of the handle and open it up to dry, but that seems like a hassle to do every day, and yet I'm too paranoid about mildew and molds not to.

I wish I knew what was up with me and glasses. Not only do they often ride down my nose (and hit my cheeks if they're over a certain height), but whether they manage to stay up or not, they usually become extremely tilted to one side. I have real trouble figuring out which parts of my head are asymmetrical and which aren't so I have just never worked this out, or what to do about it.
