urocyon: Grey fox crossing a stream (Default)

Having just come back from the park down the street, I'm really hoping that the row of new vines they've planted to cover a wall is some cultivar of Parthenocissus tricuspidata. It looks suspiciously like they've repeated a great much-earlier experiment in London, and planted poison ivy. The leaves look more like it, and I've had plenty of experience recognizing and avoiding the stuff.

Let's hope they didn't buy mislabeled poison ivy. This has happened before (under Parthenocissus quinquefolia) in the UK, apparently.

Just in case, I'm keeping Max away from that area of the park, strong a reaction as I get.
