I'm getting tired of reloading the USPS Track & Confirm page and seeing "Your item was accepted at 5:05 pm on March 30, 2004 in RADFORD, VA 24141. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later." Of course, simply leaving the reload button alone and closing that browser tab would fix this problem. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] vatine's suggestion of calling the consulate was too reasonable a one for me to have seriously considered, panicky as I was. *shakes head* It turned out that I needed to send in another set of photos--I won't even speculate about what happened to the others--and a slightly differently certified name change order, which was a pain to get hold of. I have to wonder how long it would have taken them to notify me that they needed these things. And, as I mentioned to him, if they'll decide next that they want some other document not mentioned anywhere, signed in blood by a notary and seven witnesses using poorly-specified sigils.

But having everything submitted now--so far as I know--is a great weight off. It shouldn't take too long to get things back now.

The flight tomorrow is definitely out, but the tickets can be exchanged. I'd rather go sooner, but some extra time to get ready for a move isn't entirely unwelcome.

Yay! Just checked a minute ago, and found: "Your item was delivered at 11:30 am on April 01, 2004 in NEW YORK, NY 10022."
