As will happen when aimlessly wandering the Web, I ran across Ward Connerly's reply to a letter from Rep. John D. Dingell of Michigan. Congressman Dingell's original letter is at the bottom of the page, and I must agree with Mr. Connerly:

Your letter is a prime example of why the texture of civil discourse in our nation is so coarse. It is an indication of why Members of Congress need the police to intervene to separate them from fighting.

Looking at the density of rubbish Dingell produced, I couldn't help thinking that he might be better off consulting Mr Insulty, rather than the hackneyed phrase generator inside his skull. The result would surely sound as sensible.

To think I was growing weary of the generically appeasing form letters from Senator Warner's office, with little or no apparent relevance to any subject I've ever mentioned...
